The event offers a unique opportunity to learn from two leading organic farmers with 50 years of organic experience between them. \nStarting at Carr House Farm in Driffield\, Tim and Caroline Sellers\, along with their daughters\, Hester and Jessica\, will showcase their 192-hectare organic farm and the Side Oven Bakery\, which produces bread from wheat grown\, milled and baked on site. Enjoy breakfast and a farm walk with insights into soil management both for health and for carbon\, guidance on crop variety selection\, and creating better marketing strategies with on-farm diversification. \nThe event will then move west away from the coast to High Callis Wold at Stamford Bridge. After a delicious locally sourced lunch\, Mike and Kate Stringer will help guide visitors through their 345-hectare organic farm business with cropping and livestock enterprises\, including suckler cows and breeding ewes. DESCRIPTION:North Devon mixed farm to host NSA Sheep South West 2025\nOrganisers of NSA Sheep South West are excited to announce that the popular event is returning for 2025. \nKindly hosted by the Stanbury family\, NSA Sheep South West will take place on Wednesday 25th June at Weston Farm\, East Knowstone\, South Molton\, Devon\, EX36 4ED. \nVisitors to the event will be able to enjoy a tour of the family’s beef and sheep enterprise that has grown to 500 acres\, plus additional rented and common grazing. \nThe farm currently lambs 980 ewes plus ewe lambs outside in April and is upping sheep numbers.\nThe current flock includes some North Country and Suffolk Mules\, put to Texel tups\, but the predominant breeds are now Romneys. The farm is also venturing into wool shedding breeds with Easycare and Exlana ewes. All sheep are finished off on grass and herbal leys with the majority of sheep (and cattle) overwintered outside. \nIn addition to the sheep flock\, the farm has 145 spring calving suckler cows\, mostly native breeds\, and is home to the Knowstone pedigree herd of Red Ruby Devon cattle.
